Knitter Bronwyn, President Briony Casburn and Jerry Casburn volunteered to travel to Nepal in March 2020 with the ROMAC Team. She befriended children who needed medical attention and made a commitment to raise funds for ROMAC. Back home, she made over 30 beanies, headbands and hats and raised over $500 for ROMAC. The Rotary Club of McLaren Vale donated this amount and have commenced on recruiting others to help make more beanies.
Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) provides medical treatment to children from developing countries in the form of life saving and or dignity restoring surgery, and for whom treatment is not available in their own country.
Rotarians volunteer their time and expertise to run ROMAC – a Rotary program that encompasses all the Districts of Australia and New Zealand – assisted by many eminent Australian surgeons who generously donate their time free for the treatment of our patients.
